Summer 2023 Toy Design and the BMI Merchandise Product Design Process
At BMI Merchandise, we take immense pride in being the leading merchandiser for the family entertainment center industry. We sell redemption toys and wholesale novelty merchandise for family fun center’s redemption center areas. We not only partner with manufacturers to source top-quality merchandise at competitive prices, but we also create our own original products and toys with an in-house team of talented product designers. In an effort to go the extra (s)mile, we focus on unique guest experiences for our customers through custom, branded, and one-of-a-kind products.
We also created AMRS with our customers in mind. It’s a valuable tool that empowers Family Entertainment Centers to manage their redemption process more effectively while optimizing their bottom line and enhancing their overall customer experience.
Q&A with BMI Merchandise
We had the pleasure of speaking with Adam, one of the brilliant product designers at BMI Merchandise. He's a highly skilled illustrator who kicked off his career at Spirit Halloween. He's not just a creative genius; he's also a die-hard fan of the Phillies and a comic book lover.
Q: Are there any upcoming projects that you’re excited to work on?
A: We’re currently working on a project for Dave and Busters, as well as plush toy designs. We’re pretty excited about the project for Dave and Busters.
Q: What’s the research process like for BMI?
A: We go online and see what the new toy trends are then we research it from there to see what the market is doing. We use our research to create unique ideas for the products for our clients like Dave and Buster’s. At the end of the day, “I just aim for awesomeness.”
Q: What are some current toy design and product trends that you are seeing right now?
A: The latest trends that we are seeing are alien toys, mushroom toys, and stuff from the late 90s to the early 2000s. Also, Y2K is making a big comeback in product design. It’s a lot of fun getting to see the latest trends in toy designs and getting inspired by previous trends.
