Meet Nicholas: A Fresh Face at BMI Shares His Take on the Redemption Business

Let's give a warm welcome to the latest addition to our BMI Merchandise family, Nicholas Kuchie! Nicholas has been with BMI for only a short time, but as a regional sales manager he's already making a big impact.

We recently sat down with Nicholas to discuss his journey and pick his brain about all things redemption industry-related. It's been a couple of months since Nicholas joined us, and we wanted to see what life has been like for him working at BMI. We loved getting to know him, and we think you will too!

To listen to exclusive recordings from Nicholas' interview, head over to our Instagram.

Getting to Know Nicholas

First things first, let's get to know Nicholas's story. Nicholas comes to BMI with a military background, bringing a unique perspective to sales. He collaborates with various teams within BMI, but he has a special connection with Mitchell Katz, our national sales manager.

"I work hand in hand with Mitchell, and we have a great system going," Nicholas explains.  "We're both the youngest guys on the team, and we really enjoy working with each other and bridging the gap between the website and people's perspective."

One relationship that Nicholas has enjoyed building is the partnership with Gel Blasters.  "One of my personal favorites," he gushes. "Just huge across the board. The gel blasters are fun to interact with, and their team is amazing."

Nicholas is also a huge fan of BMI's latest plush lineup, as are a majority of his clients. Who can resist the charm of this adorable, and popular Casey the Caterpillar plushie?

Industry Knowledge/Advice for FEC Owners

When it comes to advice for FEC (Family Entertainment Center) owners, Nicholas keeps it simple. "With the industry leaders that we work with, we've learned that redemption centers should be focused toward that slick retail feel, where you display products that the customers want to win to drive revenue to the games."

Nicholas emphasizes the appeal of a well-organized arcade redemption display with no repeating items. "That's what your customers want to see." There's an art to crafting a merchandise display that encourages customers to spend their tickets, and Nicholas is here to help clients refine their approach.

"At BMI, we give you that retail aspect, that full layout look. We train your staff on how to achieve this," he says.

Nicholas’ Take on AMRSTM and BMI Services

One of the biggest misconceptions Nicholas encounters is the cost of BMI's services. Many clients are pleasantly surprised by the transparency of our value-added process. As Nicholas explains, there's no markup, no hidden fees, and no unwelcome surprises. Our design and installation services come at no extra cost, whether our customer is a bigwig in the industry or a small-town bowling alley.

When it comes to BMI’s AMRS™ (Automated Merchandise Replenishment System), Nicholas always prioritizes the customer. AMRS™ is a whole new approach to stocking your centers, saving on labor, and making customers happy, all at once. We take the guesswork out of the purchasing process. The result is: minimum inventory, minimum expense, and the best product line-up.

"We like to say we're not just a partner. We're not just a vendor," he says. "We are a concierge. We are a partner and we're here for the long run."

Work Life at BMI

So, what's life like working in redemption wholesale at BMI? Well, according to Nicholas, it's like being part of a family. His days start with a cup of coffee and a warm greeting to fellow team members in the office. The positive energy is still there when he's discussing BMI's extensive product line.

"I've been gaining knowledge so quickly," Nicholas says of discussions with experienced sales team members.

Advice for Someone Starting a Career in Redemption

For anyone embarking on a career in redemption, Nicholas has some sage advice – be passionate! Passion helps you stand out and do something great. It's this passionate mindset that links Nicholas's past career in the military to his current role at BMI.

"Passion is really going to drive you to take the extra mile," he explains. "And that's why I found it very easy to transition into this role coming from my background."

Wrapping Up

So, there you have it, a glimpse into Nick's world at BMI! Every new team member brings fresh energy and ideas, and Nicholas is no exception. We're happy to have him on board.

We can't wait to see how Nicholas's journey with BMI unfolds and what exciting new projects he'll be a part of in the future.

Welcome to the team, Nicholas!
